The Installation
Our engineers installed a Grant Aerona R290 12kW air source heat pump, together with the controls and components required for the new heating system. The installation included a Grant Aerona R290 Smart Controller Kit, flexible hoses and valve kit, and the manufacturer’s R290 installation pack. A 300-litre Telford heat pump cylinder was also installed to provide domestic hot water. In addition, an Inta 50-litre buffer vessel was incorporated into the system. A Grant magnetic filter was fitted to help protect the heating system from circulating magnetic debris.

Grant Aerona R290 Air Source Heat Pump
The Grant Aerona R290 range uses R290 refrigerant, also known as propane. R290 has a very low Global Warming Potential compared with many traditional refrigerants and is increasingly used within modern heat pump technology. Air source heat pumps extract heat energy from the outside air and transfer it into the home’s heating system. Therefore, they can provide heating and hot water throughout the year, including during colder weather. For suitable properties, an air source heat pump can provide a lower-carbon alternative to traditional fossil-fuel heating systems.
