London Boiler Scrappage Scheme
The London boiler scrappage scheme is a new incentive put in place by the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. The scheme is designed to help homeowners and landlords in London replace old inefficient boilers with much more energy efficient A-rated boilers, such as the Worcester Bosch Greenstar range.
Whats is an A-Rated
In the UK, boilers are rated from A to G. The A-rated boilers are considered as the most energy efficient, with the G-rated boilers being the least environmentally friendly. Installing a highly efficient A-rated boiler is one of the best investments you can make, as the long-term benefits in savings on energy bills are considerable.
Benefits of an A-Rated Boiler
- Significantly reduce fuel bills.
- Reduce carbon emissions.
- Modern boilers are better designed, making them easier to maintain and repair.
- Great warranties available.
- A-rated modern boilers are often smaller so require less space in a property.
Boiler Scrappage Scheme
The boiler scrappage scheme is limited to 6,500 homes in London. The scheme also ends 31st March, however it’s likely to finish sooner than that as once the 6,500 vouchers are gone the scheme is to end. The process is extremely simple to apply for and if you have a boiler older than 15 years it’s likely you’ll fit the criteria, although there are other requirements to meet to ensure you’re eligible for the London boiler scrappage scheme.
Customers can get more than £400 for their old boilers, as manufacturers such as Worcester Bosch and also pledging cashback incentives. To discover more and apply for the voucher then please check out our main article.
